You might be wondering why we bought Web hosting when we could have just registered for an online website builder such as Weebly, WiX, or SquareSpace. The answer is this:
We want full ownership of our content and full control over our website. If you build your website on one of these platforms, if you one day that you no longer want to be with the same service provider, you can’t simply download your website and head over to another provider. The reason is you built it on their proprietary software. In other words if you want to move, you’re gonna have to start scratch. It’s a scary thought that you are indefinitely tied to the same service provider. The other reason, and it’s the more important part really, is that you have some major limitations when it comes to optimizing aspects of your website, such as Search Engine Optimization that will will get into later. As a result we have decided to go with a Content Management System or CMS. I’ll explain what a CMS is shortly but in essence, in order for us to build our website on a CMS platform, we need web hosting.
What is WordPress and Why are we choosing it over an online website builder platform
