We quickly touched on what a target market is. And now we want to look and see how we can choose a niche to get into. For example, In the overall target market of pet owners, there are many different niches that exists. For example, one person maybe in the business of dog training, while another maybe in the business of selling pet insurance. What your niche becomes partly depends on what you actually have to sell. For example, if you are a hotel owner, you can possibly offer hotel rooms to people with pets. As far as online affiliate marketing is concerned, we are somewhat limited to what we can find on Amazon.com to promote. Limited is an overstatement since currently there are 200 million products on Amazon.com. The trick is to finding out which ones to promote.

For example, in the market of Racing Bikes, possible niches would be: road bikes, mountain bikes, fixed gear bikes and cycling apparel or equipment. The entire market is far too wide to target with your affiliate program, so you need to find a niche which will help you to provide solutions for a select group of people.
